Visit Las Vegas at Xmas in 2005
With a good deal of progress toward migrating the site to WordPress now complete (nearly every page), I discovered that I never posted pictures from my Christmas 2005 visit to Las Vegas, NV. That's been remedied tonight with 80 "new" photos posted. I also discovered that I have no stills from my Christmas 2006 visit and I don't remember why (there's not a gap in the automatic sequential numbering of my photos taken during December 2006 that suggests that they were deleted). Of course, that was a year before I got my first iPhone, so it's possible I just chose to travel without a camera.

Lots of "New" photos of Universal Hollywood from 2004 posted
![]() |
Sorry, this photo was on the site for years. It's been replaced! |
Sorry it took so long.
I even got carried away and added a bunch more photos from November 15, 2004 to the newly formatted page.
More "old" photos of other places will probably be posted around the site "soon" too. Stay tuned.

ASDHollywood.com Wordpress Migration Progress!
Just about all of the ASDHollywood.com pages devoted to visits to Walt Disney World, Disneyland USA and Disneyland Paris have made the transition over to the Wordpress platform. If you explore, I've sprinkled some new (old) photos here and there and even added a photo standing in front of the late lamented Disneyland Peoplemover from back in May 1991.

Revisit Walt Disney World at New Year's 2006-7
Sure, it's been more than six years since the celebration of New Year's 2006-7, but in redesigning the site, I discovered that I had only posted one photo of the Parks from this trip to Walt Disney World. That's been remedied with 88 "new" photos from my New Year's 2006-7 Trip. Enjoy.

50 New Photos of Chicago added
Including a few interesting ones from the air. They're on the Hometown Chicago page and in the mix for the random photos that appear on the Home Page of Dalinka.com. Also, quite a few broken photo links throughout the site have been fixed.

Back from Walt Disney World and South Florida
Just a few days later than my usual New Year trip this year, I spent a week at Walt Disney World and nearly a week in South Florida. Fortunately, the run of the Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special was just long enough that I caught four shows (two on each of the last two days of its run) as well as the Osbourne Family Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Lots of new stuff to see since my last visit in August. At the Studios, I saw the new Legend of Jack Sparrow. Over at Epcot, I rode the new version of Test Track. At Animal Kingdom, I saw the zebras recently added to the Safari and appreciated the slower pace of the ride that allowed for more careful photography. And, of course, over at Magic Kingdom, I saw New Fantasyland: rode the Little Mermaid ride (which, except for the building and queue is a copy of the one I rode a month earlier at Disney California Adventure), and experienced the Enchanted Tales with Belle (along with my young nieces and nephew). As always, lots of photos and video posted on this page.

WordPress Migration Continues ... New Pages
The front page of ASDHollywood.com has migrated again, this time to WordPress 3.5 (very long story that has to do with the way my host, 1and1.com, deals with click-and-build versus do-it-yourself -- the short of it is that I had hoped to use "click-and-build" but realized that if I want to keep the site current, I'll have to use do-it-yourself). The front page of Dalinka.com remains in a click-and-build installation of WordPress 3.4.2.
One of the plugins I had hoped to use, also hasn't been upgraded by its authors to compatibility with WordPress 3.5, so I've had to find some other plugins and develop more code behind the scenes to make the page-by-page transition to the new platform. I certainly have more tweaking to do to the page layout to take full advantage of the "Responsive Theme" and its ability as good on mobile devices as on other browsers. I also have a bit more learning and experimenting to do before I (hopefully) may be able to one day say page transitions could be easy.
So far, the creation of the About page was not too difficult. More difficult was the creation of a "Disney "places" in LA page to transition the old page that hosted only photos of Encounter Restaurant at LAX into a page that also includes photos of Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown L.A. and some Hollywood Boulevard sites.
Creation of the new version of the "Disney Studios Burbank" page wasn't as easy as I hoped after what I learned and created for the LA page. Indeed, the YouTube embedding is not working as advertised -- it's making the video way too big on the page. In any event, Disney in New York and Disney in Chicago will be next....

Back from Disneyland and Los Angeles
Just spent a week in Southern California visiting Disneyland, including Candlelight Processional at Disneyland, and the incredible new Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and (slightly less new) World of Color show and Little Mermaid ride at Disney California Adventure. During the trip, I also visited Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Burbank, Studio City, Santa Monica and many other sites around the area ... and, if you caught it just right, I was even seen on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on both Thursday and Friday nights (since both episodes were taped back-to-back on Thursday), with a very nice on-camera moment for me right next to Craig as he ran through the audience about five minutes before the end of Friday's show. Some pictures are on the PhotoBlog now; more photos on the site soon.
